In the fields of medicine, Kazan State Medical University is considered to be one of the most esteemed Universities of Russia. With 200 years of experience in medical training, KSMU is justifiably an international University.
Founded in 1814, KSMU was the second university institution to be founded in Kazan, the third medical university institution in the Russia.
The faculty of general medicine is one of the oldest and largest faculties of medicine in Russia. It was founded in May of 1814.
Kazan State Medical University (KSMU) functions on the basis of self-governance and belongs to the system of higher education and scientific research of the Ministry of Health Care and Social Development of Russian Federation.
From this University, thousands of Indians had been graduated in the past. For higher learning in medicine, KSMU is treated to be the multifunctional and multi-leveled government institution. In getting hands on education in medicine, it meets both personal and social needs in developing biomedical and clinical sciences, as well as broadening scientific knowledge of medical sciences.
As per the Academic Ranking of World Universities (European Standard ARES-2014), KSMU has secured the third place among the top Medical Universities in Russia by the European Scientific-Industrial Chamber. KSMU is recognized by MCI, WHO, UK, USA, and other considerable countries. The University belongs to the system of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Ministry of Health of Russia and it functions at the groundwork of self-governance.

Clinical Training
Clinical training is performed at 54 units of the Ministry of Health of the Republic Tatarstan. There are 33 general hospitals, outpatient departments, 21 polyclinics, maternity hospitals, dental polyclinics, etc. The total number of beds is around 9000. There are approximately 4500 therapeutic, 2120 — pediatric, 1500 — surgical and 440 — gynecological beds. The main hub of clinical training is the Republican Clinical Hospital. Other centers for clinical training include Hospital of emergency care, City hospital No. 18 and Interregional Clinical Diagnostic Center.
KSMU dental polyclinic has 98 dental chairs. Republican and 8 city centers of public healthcare with the specialized departments and laboratories are used for teaching and training the students of prophylactic medicine faculty. Pharmaceutical faculty uses for training its students 65 pharmacies with the laboratories in Republic Tatarstan, 18 pharmacies in Chuvashia and some commercial pharmaceutical units.
Members of the staff participate in the development of six international programs. For the last five years more than 200 reports were presented at the international conferences, symposiums and conferences (France, Germany, Turkey, Switzerland, Check Republic, England, USA, Holland, Italy, France, China).
