The capital of Russia has its own charm and beauty. Moscow was considered the biggest political, industrial, scientific and cultural centre in the erstwhile USSR which it has competently retained till date.
Moscow is a serene and picturesque land, arousing romance in its every bit and byte, the city is located on the banks of the river Moskova which lends the name Moscow to this marvelous city. The climate is exceptionally moderate with temperature amplitude of 28 degrees Celsius. The cool period starts by end of September and lasts till mid May. The rainfall ranges from 560-650 mm per year from April to October. Snowfall usually happens between November to April. In spite of all the weather schedules it still remains quite unstable and at times unpredictable thus making mockery of the weather forecaster.
Moscow also happens to be an apt platform for arts and science, theatre, artists, writers, painters, scientists, etc.. Some of them who prominently figure out are Pushkin,Gogol, Tolstoy, Chekhov,Herzen, Pirogov, Sklifosopsky, Vasnetsov, Serov, Levitan etc. all happen to be moscovites. The communist idea of Karl Marx had its initiation here.
The city houses more than 100 museums and exhibition houses, 30+ professional theatres and concert halls, numerous cinema halls, clubs and civic centers. On the sport front it has hordes of swimming pools, archery and Olympic training centers.
The trade union sports centre of Krylatskove has an amazing cycling track of 13.5 km in a stadium.
The present Moscow showcases the new face of modern times with emblazoning itself as a centre of knowledge, education and science. Hundreds of research centers and other dedicated streams of education bring in more than 7, 00,000 students for enlightenment.
